Aladdin is a animated movie that was made by Disney and it was released on November 25, 1992. Due to people complaining about racism one of the lines was removed from DVDs. When it was released on Disney+ there was additional censorship.

Censorship[edit | edit source]

International Censorship[edit | edit source]

Disney+[edit | edit source]

Violent references and undressing references have been edited for the Disney+ release.

  • The scene where the peddler says “Where they cut off your ear if they don’t like your face.” it was changed to “Where it’s flat and immense and the heat is intense”. (This edit exists on DVDs.) The line is from one of the verses of the opening song "Arabian Nights" which was altered following complaints from the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC).
  • The scene where Aladdin says “Good tiger. Take off and go.” was muted due to complaints that it sounds like “C’mon teenagers, take off your clothes.” (This edit was made on DVDs and this censored DVD version is the one on Disney+)

Where to find it uncensored[edit | edit source]

The original theatrical release was uncensored. Some DVDs may be uncensored and some streaming sites may offer the uncensored version.
