Counter Strike is a first person shooter that was developed by Valve and published by Sierra Studios. The video game was released on November 9, 2000, violence was toned down in the German release. The game was also indexed in Germany meaning the game can't be sold to people below 18 due to it's "harmful" material. The game was banned in Brazil in 2008 though the ban was eventually lifted.

Brazil Censorship[edit | edit source]

  • The game was banned in 2008 due to the amount of violence in the game. The ban was later lifted allowing the game to be released in Brazil.

Germany Censorship[edit | edit source]

(USK 18 version)

  • Blood splatters was removed.
  • Blood on the walls was removed.

(USK 16 version)

  • Blood splatters was removed.
  • Blood on the walls was recolored yellow.
  • Corpses are no longer dead instead the "dead person" sits down and shakes his head.
  • The amount of hostage variety was reduced so now all hostages use the same character model.
  • You can no longer kill hostages.

Where to find it uncensored[edit | edit source]

If the game is gotten in Germany using the German steam it is uncensored if you use a language setting that isn't German. Every other country has it completely uncensored.
