Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! is an expanded version of Doki Doki Literature Club! that was originally released in 2017. It is a visual novel and psychological horror game that was designed and programmed by Dan Salvato and released on the Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and Windows platforms on June 30, 2021. The original version is freeware, but Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! is a paid video game. Only the PlayStation versions have been affected by censorship, specifically the scene involving Yuri.

Comments on the censorship video link below have revealed Sony's hypocritical double standard as they allowed violent video games such as Mortal Kombat 11 to be released uncensored on the PS4. Most video games made in Japan, especially those with fanservice, have been affected by Sony's policies on video game content. Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! was censored on the PS4 and PS5 despite being made in the United States and not being fanservicey.

International Censorship[]

  • The scene where Yuri stabs herself three times with a knife was digitally modified for the PlayStation versions. Blood and gore were recolored black, removing the red shade entirely. The bleeding also does not display properly in the censored version.

Where to find it uncensored[]

No uncensored version is available for PlayStation platforms due to Sony's policies, so all other platforms have it uncensored.
