Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation is a Japanese RPG that was developed by Chunsoft and released by Enix on February 10, 1988 as the sequel to Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line. Religious elements were removed from North American release.
Crosses and Coffins were removed from the North American release.
Priests became healers with their crosses being removed.
How "Puff-Puff" Has Been Censored In Dragon Quest
In the Japanese version, the player in one of the towns will meet a woman in the middle of the night who asks if you want a Puff Puff. If you select yes you will be invited into her home and the screen fades to black while the text says your MC is enjoying himself, once the lights come on though you see it was her Dad who was performing the Puff Puff. In the North American release the woman is asking the player if he wants to know his fortune, once the lights turn to black the text says the MC is looking in a crystal ball which her father says he is the one operating the crystal ball.
