Masked Rider is a 1995 live-action television series produced by Saban Entertainment and Toei Company, Ltd. It is an American adaptation of the 1988 Japanese television series Kamen Rider Black RX, and also serves a spinoff of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Differences between the Japanese and American TV series[]

Plots that reference Christianity (and potentially could offend Christian viewers) were not used. The most violent scenes were not used. In the Japanese version Shadow Moon, when he returned to being good, he helped the protagonist in a fight and died in the same fight. The American version of this character, Donais, lost his powers when he returned to being good and so the scenes of that fight were not used.

In the Japanese version, Kamen Rider Black RX's finisher had him using his sword Revolcane to stab and saw the monster. However, said footage was not used as it was deemed "too violent". In the American version, instead, had Masked Rider using the Electro Saber to blast the monsters, while Robo Rider, Spearavore and Brain Mite were defeated by slashes, the former weakened and the other two destroyed. Ocusect's destruction was the only one to use the original stabbing and sawing footage.
