Shrek is an American animated movie that was made by DreamWorks Pictures, and it was released on April 22, 2001. When Cartoon Network started airing the movie it was censored due to network standards. As a result, some language was removed from the Cartoon Network broadcast to make it more family friendly.

The sequel was Briefly banned in Israel due to a joke about David Daor.[1]

  • The scene where Donkey's owner says "I'm the talkingest damn thing you ever saw." it was changed to "I'm the most talkingest thing." (Since 2017 this scene has been uncensored.)
  • The scene where the woman singer says "I don't give a damn about my reputation." was modified for the Cartoon Network broadcast. In the Cartoon Network version the word  "damn" was being replaced with the rock music clip. (Since 2017 this scene has been uncensored.)
  • The scene where Shrek says "Damn!" was cut. (Since 2017 this scene has been uncensored.)
  • The scene where Donkey says "Parfaits may be the most delicious thing on the whole damn planet" it was changed to "Parfaits may be the most delicious thing on the whole planet." (Since 2017 this scene has been uncensored.)
  • The scene where Shrek says "Stubborn Jackass!" it was changed to "Stubborn! Backoff!" (Since 2017 this scene has been uncensored.)

  • The words "jackass", "kissass", "damn" and "ass" were removed from the Nickelodeon release.

  • The scene where Donkey's owner says "I'm the most talkest damn thing." it was changed to "I'm the most talkest thing."
  • The scene where Donkey says "Parfaits may be the most delicious thing on the whole damn planet" it was changed to "Parfaits may be the most delicious thing on the whole planet."
  • The scene where Donkey says "No one likes a kiss ass," "kiss ass" was muted.
  • The scene where Shrek says "Well, I have to save my ass," it was changed to "Well, I have to save my."

Where to find it uncensored

The movie now airs completely uncensored. Even if you go back in time to 2002-2016, the DVD, Blu-Ray, and Digital is uncensored.
