Splash is a fantasy romantic comedy that was the first film to be produced by Touchstone Pictures, a newly-formed subsidiary of Disney. The movie was released theatrically by Buena Vista Pictures on March 9, 1984. When the film was released on the Disney+ streaming platform, it was censored to avoid showing nudity, which was uncommon for a film that was rated PG by the MPAA.[1][2]
