The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is a Japanese RPG that was developed by Nintendo Entertainment Analysis & Development and published by Nintendo. The video game was released on June 6, 1993, due to Nintendo wanting the American release to be family friendly, sexuality was toned down.

- The Hippo’s sprite was modified for American release. In the American version Hippo’s sheet and breasts were digitally removed.
- The line “When I was swimming in the bay, the waves swept away my swimsuit...If you find it, I'll give you my!” was changed to “When I was swimming in the bay, the waves took a very important necklace from around my neck! If you find it, I will let you take a scale from my tail!”. The item you find is also a scale instead of a swimsuit.
- The line “Kyaa! Pervert! Pervert!” was changed to “I have already looked around here!”
