Transformers: Robots in Disguise is a Japanese anime that was made by Gallop, the show was released on April 5, 2000 and it ended on December 27, 2000. When Fox Kids bought the rights to air the show in America, due to Fox Kids wanting to make the show more family friendly it was censored. Violence was toned down and some episodes were banned due to the 9/11 attacks.

  • Episode 1
  1. The episode was pulled from reruns due to the scene that shows Megatron smashing through a skyscraper in claw mode. This episode was banned due to the 9/11 attacks and the company decided to ban any episode that could reference the attacks.
  • Episode 4
  1. The scene that shows Prowl's jet-claw was cut. (Censorship occurred after the 9/11 attacks.)
  2. Any reference to the generator blowing up were redubbed to remove the offensive material. (Censorship occurred after the 9/11 attacks.)
  • Episode 6
  1. The scene that shows buildings being destroyed during the opening scene was cut.
  2. Any line that referenced terrorism was redubbed, and the offending content was replaced with lines that were less offensive.
  • Episode 13
  1. The episode was delayed due to the 9/11 attacks, it did however eventually get released (But it would air out of order due to the delay.)
  • Episode 17
  1. The episode was banned due to the 9/11 attacks.
  • Episode 21
  1. The episode was banned due to the 9/11 attacks.
  • Episode 22
  1. The episode was banned due to the 9/11 attacks.

Where to find it uncensored

The show is completely uncensored in Japan, Canada and the rest of the world. The American DVD's are also completely uncensored.
